Soccer is already everywhere in Queens.
From the fields in Flushing to Astoria Park. From rooftop pitches to cafes, bars and streets where people come out to root for their teams. And that momentum ramps up even more when World Cups are underway.
As part of “World Cup Memory”, “World Cup World’s Borough” will hear from Queens residents about their experiences, wherever they take place. In parks, cafes, and streets, in schools and workplaces.

What better place for the World’s game?”

World Cups come and go but the memories last.
This will be a shared place to document experiences together – in any language – and to lift up the wonderfulness of Queens…before the World Cup, during it, and for posterity.
So, Queens residents!:
Share your memories of past World Cups and hopes for this one: through this site or on Instagram, and spread the word to others.
And get in touch with ideas for community events that can be combined with recording experiences, ahead of and during the World Cup: annabel@its-material.com.
